Catharine Abell

Catharine did her undergraduate degree in Philosophy and French at The University of Adelaide. She received her PhD in Philosophy from Flinders University in 2003. She is currently a Research Fellow at Macquarie University, and is on leave from The University of Manchester, where she is a Lecturer. |

Current research
Catharine works predominantly on the nature of depiction (that form of representation unique to figurative pictures). She is also interested in related issues in the philosophy of mind - such as the nature of mental imagery - and in various issues in aesthetics.
